About The 1690 House
The charming Colonial Dutch 1690 House, now 320 years old, is located in historic Stone Ridge, New York, in the beautiful Hudson Valley at the foot of the Catskill Mountains. The exterior of The 1690 House is whitewashed stone with a hand-hewn cedar shake roof. It has a porch and 3 dormers. Built by Dutch settlers in the 17th Century, The 1690 House is nestled on 64 acres of fields and untouched woods leading to the top of a mountain with spectacular views.
The 7’ foot high large living room contains an original large period pine fire place, exposed wood beams and original Dutch doors and hinges, large Dutch 22 ’’deep window sills and a restored 100 year old pine floor.
The kitchen/ dining room has a brick fireplace, original doors and wood ceiling with exposed beams, wide window sills and the original wide plank pine floor. There are three bedrooms and 1 1/2 baths.
There is a field next to the house which is suitable for setting up tents for events and parties and ruins of a 17th century stone barn for picturesque photos.
The 1690 House is a perfect location for film, advertising shoots and small elegant parties.
